'Vote against victimisation & moral corruption'- Hon Fahie
He made the point while speaking at a rally in Carrot Bay last night June 7, 2015 following a motorcade that passed through various parts of West End.
He noted that members of the National Democratic Party have been going to homes in the district saying that he has not been doing anything in the district.
“Well if I ain’t do, who do?” he asked. “And if I am not qualified to represent you, if they could put in people like those in the Fifth and the Sixth [Districts], why am I not qualified to represent you?” he asked.
You’re a criminal!
Regarding the behaviour of the NDP, he said that the governing party is constantly calling for an apology for everything said on the VIP campaign trail. He referred to the instance where a VIP candidate spoke of a young man who was selling water to raise money for a piece of equipment for the Peebles Hospital and noted that the NDP jumped on it by accusing the VIP of “calling down” the young man.
“Why do they have a young man selling water to raise money for equipment at the hospital while the Premier is bragging that he has $90 million in the bank in cash? That’s a logical question to ask anybody. The young fellow out there, he doing his best, we applaud his effort. And you bragging about having $90 million in the bank and have a boy out in the rain selling water to raise equipment? Man, you’re a criminal!” he said.
He said that the NDP is asking for apologies for this and other matters raised by the VIP. “But yet their mouthpiece tell your representative the worst of bad words in the public and not one of them come and ask for an apology of her,” he said.
“I am telling you, when you go to the polls you’re going to end victimisation when you vote for the VIP,” he said.
Morally corrupt
Honourable Fahie said that if persons in the district heard that he was a womaniser they would be greatly disappointed in him.
“But then you have these guys over there morally corrupt doing anything, with all genders and people want to divorce them from this behaviour in the office,” he said.
“You see when I was Minister for Education and Culture one thing you could have felt safe with me with…is with your girl child and your boy child. But you know if you dig deep in your heart it isn’t the same way now,” he said.
Meanwhile, the First District candidates are Hon Fahie, Shaina M. Smith of the National Democratic Party and Preston P. Stoutt, an Independent candidate.
