ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The nomination window has now closed for the various positions on the BVI Amateur Volleyball Association Executive and the AGM is planned for next Wednesday March 27, 2013 at 5:30 P.M.

Whilst it is understood that several persons have expressed interest in taking up positions, the final list of nominees probably won’t be released until the verification of eligibility process has been completed and also confirmation sought from those nominated that they actually intend to stand.

The election of new officers is always the most exciting part of any Sports AGM and the BVIAVA is encouraging all players and interested parties to make sure they attend the meeting, which is being held at the BVI Olympic Committee Office above the Riteway store at Road Reef Plaza.

In other Volleyball news, action in the Power League returns tonight March 22, 2013 in the Multi Purpose Sports Complex with two matches. Achievers come up against Raw Power  in the opening game followed by Gunz taking on Jus Dream.

Action is scheduled to start at 7P.M.

On Saturday and Sunday, Power league action is on hold again as the Battle of the Churches will be taking place.

Further down this year the BVIAVA is making a bid to host the 2nd round of the World Cup Qualifiers as opposed to making a trip to St Croix

If successful, and current President Sabinah Mason believes the BVIAVA will be awarded hosting rights, then Volleyball fans will have the chance to witness some very high quality games including the USVI (complete with Danielle Selkridge and Valissia Brathwaite), St Vincent, El Salvador and of course the BVI.
