VIslander Dimari Thomas charged for robbery in Alabama
According to reports on various online news sites in Alabama, police arrested two people in connection with the robbery at the Kangaroo gas station on Jordan Lane.
“It happened around 9:00 P.M. on Thursday. Two men, 22-year-old Dimari Thomas and 24-year-old Kristopher Williams, are charged with robbery. Both men are being held in the Madison County Jail,” WHNT News 19 reported on September 30, 2016.
Police say the men wore masks and robbed the store at gunpoint before running away.
Witnesses, according to WHNT News 19, saw the two men get in a car in the area of Jack Coleman Drive. Police in the area stopped the car and recovered the money taken as well as the masks and guns used.
The father of Dimari Thomas, former police officer and basketball referee Mr Neil J. Thomas, when contacted said: “I can’t comment on that because I myself don’t know what is going on,” Mr Neil Thomas said, while admitting that he has been hearing reports his son was allegedly involved in a robbery in the United States.

This boy lucky he didn't get shot by those redneck cops? He went america to make a better life but made an *** of himself instead.
They can't deport him because he is an american. He only lived here because of his family.
Hmmmmmmm
Updeislun folks are the one whose worse nightmare is to hear the words ," deport him". Not too long ago in London,a ZJamaican actually sliced his throat after being picked up for deportation. Going home is a nightmare for done but still they are a nightmare for the country where they are guests.
.
Drove through Mississippi and Alabama on my way to Florida, those police stop me and my family in Mississippi, made us get out the car on the side of the road bought out the k-9 dog, search the car and found nothing. Did not even say sorry. I don't do the South.
It may not be of comfort to the parents that their son has been accused of a serious crime, but it should be a huge comfort to them that he is alive. Yes, he may be found guilty and may have to serve several years in prison, but alive is far better than dead. Armed robbery is no joke and this incident could have had a very different ending. They should consider themselves lucky.
Being held accountable for any wrong doings (if caught) is something that all criminals KNOW is part and parcel of the lifestyle they have chosen. Too bad, so sad. If you play with fire, expect to be burned.
How many years off his life? At min 10-15 years with hard criminals and skin heads trying to shank him and possible sexually abuse him. This is not Balo this is the real deal!
So they split $4,000.00 $2,000.00 each!!! It will cost more then that just to fly out of the BVI, stay in a hotel and rent a car. I have a son and it's my job to protect him and try to set an example. We work hard for what we want and I have no shame in working hard for what it is I want.
I hope some of the young people would consider firstly how it will effect them and the consequences of their actions!!! Then stop for a minute and think about your mother or father who may have worked hard to provide a better life for you. I remind my son that he would kill his grandmother if he ever did anything remotely close.
If nothing else I pray that you serve as an example for other who think getting rich quick is the solution to financial challenges. Live within your means.
I pray that God will look over this young man and his family; stays strong. Yes they are our children but their choices belong to them. It just pains us deeply when you have tried your best and things like this happen.
We all make bad decisions in life, don't judge the difference is you may have not gotten caught
Wishing this family who I know only the very best.
Yeah he is going to spend a few years in prison for armed robbery. He is going to wish he was back home in prison.
Yes, after he served his time, they are going to deport him out of the United States.
