FORT RECOVERY, West End, Tortola - Two persons were this afternoon, December 28, 2018, rescued from the rough sea in the area of Fort Recovery on the Western End of Tortola, Virgin Islands (VI).

While details are forthcoming, Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) can confirm that Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR) received an emergency call to which they responded promptly.

It was discovered that two persons were in distress having been washed out into the rough water and were struggling.

No injuries

They were rescued and are said to be in perfect condition having not sustained any form of injuries during the experience.

Just today, the Virgin Islands Department of Disaster Management (DDM) through the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services had issued a warning for hazardous sea conditions over the weekend of December 28, 2018.

Whilst both men are ok with no injuries, this story couldn't be farther from what happened. VISAR was not on the scene and the men were not washed out of the boat. One man was underwater diving (no clue what was happening above) and the other man jumped from the boat before the other boat collided with it.
