ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Virgin Islands basketball talent Deon J. Edwin continues to have an impact at Kent State University as the Golden Flashes enter the Christmas Season on a 4 match unbeaten run, including beating Canisius College 84-77 in game two of the Continental Tires Las Vegas Classic on Saturday December 12, 2015.

Edwin, coming off the bench for just 10 minutes court time, went 2 for 3 from field goal attempts, missed one attempted 3 pointer, went 2 from 3 from the charity stripe and picked up 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.

Kent State won the night's rebounding battle 45-29. It also enjoyed a 48-20 advantage in the paint and a 17-9 edge on fast-break points.

The Flashes are off for finals before heading west to play Southern Methodist University on December 22, 2015 in the continuation of the Continental Tires Las Vegas Classic. The Flashes will face either Colorado or Penn State on December 23.

In the previous game, a 73-62 win over the University of Louisiana at Monroe on Thursday December 10; Edwin had an explosive performance in 13 minutes on court.

The Junior pulled down four rebounds off the bench and also threw down a breakaway dunk with 4:19 to play to give the Flashes their first double-digit lead of the night at 61-50.

Kent State outscored ULM 13-5 off of turnovers, 14-11 on second-chance points and 10-4 on the fast break. ULM won the battle in the paint, 26-24.
