VI’s biggest fashion showcase SUMMER SIZZLE 2017 is coming!
This will be the 9th year this event will be held on Tortola, the main island in the VI. It continues to attract fashion lovers, travel enthusiasts, designers, models, press, and celebrities from the USA, Canada, Europe, Caribbean and of course the Virgin Islands, all eager to experience the runway shows, fashion exhibitions, sailing excursions, island tours, sumptuous dining, and fabulous entertainment.
Can't miss the catwalk
This year the launch of VI SWIM is certain to turn up the heat, with designers presenting their swimwear and resort collections, followed by an appropriately decadent poolside party.
“As Summer Sizzle VI continues to evolve, VI SWIM is the next logical step, and an excellent addition to our signature Global Glamour Runway Show,” says Founder and CEO Terry T. Donovan, a Virgin Islander living in New York.
The Global Glamour Runway Show has always been a central part of Summer Sizzle VI, featuring Ready-to-Wear collections from both established international designers, and emerging design stars. Following this year’s show, attendees can attend a Runway to Retail reception, offering them the opportunity to order looks directly from the runway, aligning with the global see-now-buy-now concept that is fast becoming the normal practice in major fashion markets around the world.
Who is who comes to this!
In recent years, Summer Sizzle VI has been hosted by a celebrity guest. In 2014 Taraji P. Henson, Academy Award winner, and queen of the FOX TV series Empire made her first visit, and was so inspired that she returned as the host for 2015.
In 2016 Nigel Barker hosted the event. Best known as a prominent fashion photographer, author, and seventeen seasons on the judge’s panel of ABC’s America's Next Top Model, Mr Barker shared his experience of the fashion industry, and advised attendees of the important part that Summer Sizzle VI played in bringing the multi-billion dollar fashion industry directly to the shores of the VI, both raising awareness and generating revenue.
