Virgin Islands News Online today January 26th, 2012 launched its mobile version as it continues to stay on the cutting edge of the media industry.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Today, Thursday January 26, 2012, the now number one news site in the VI, Virgin Islands News Online, launched its mobile site. This means that its over seven thousand readers per day have another option of getting unto the website.

Virgin Islands News Online can now be better accessed from all cellular phones and small mobile devices while you are on the go. Viewers can also comment on stories via their mobile devices.

General Manager and Marketing Executive of the news site’s parent company Advance Marketing and Professional Services John Leonard said, “This is part of the ongoing efforts to make Virgin Islands News Online more accessible, as the site’s readership has grown some 40% in 6 months”.

Readers of course can also follow the site on Facebook and Twitter.

Virgin Islands News Online, known throughout the Territory and the region for its accurate breaking news, for being fair and balanced, innovative and for having well placed sources inside governments and oppositions both in the Virgin Islands (VI) and throughout the Caribbean Region, continues to grow and is the online news site Virgin Islanders, especially students abroad, log on to for breaking news that remains factual.

Mr. Leonard, who joined the company last year after the departure of another of its founder, said “People always asked me why we do not have as many blogs/comments as some other online news sites and I tell them, our staff, board members and investors are prohibited from writing our own blogs on this site as we find that to be unethical.”

Mr. Leonard, a Canadian said “Another reason that drew me to this company is that the news site is not associated with any political party or political family and is non partisan which means, it can be objective, fair and balanced and that is good for professional reporting and factual stories.”

The news site said it was happy to launch its mobile version after customers consistently requested this service, as many readers are always on the go and wish to continue to have access via their cell phones and other small mobile devices.

Mr. Leonard also said the site would be rolling out some more user friendly changes in the coming months.

Virgin Islands News Online, which was launched on March 1, 2010, covers a variety of local, regional and international news. It also covers lots of local sports and up-dates the news site some three times a day seven days a week.

Mr. Leonard offered the company’s thanks to, “our many readers, advertisers and team of reporters around the VI”.
