Virgin Islands models strutted the runways at New York Fashion Week

New York, NY - Virgin Islands models Toia Sylester Allen and Whitney Maduro selected from Summer Sizzle BVI walked the runway at New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016 shows which was held September 10 – 17.

BVI models Melissa Duncan, Kelly-Ann Evans and Ksenia Shvalova and Jennelle Smith were also selected but was unable to attend due to schedule conflicts. The models were selected to walk in Cesar Galindo, Korto Momolu and Esosa and visited agencies such as New York Models, Fenton Moon and Bella Agency.

New York Fashion Week, a bi-annual event is one of the world’s top fashion events, and attracts top editors, celebrities, fashion stylists from around the globe. The scores of designer fashion shows, big-spending celebrity clients and lavish parties generate an annual economic impact of $887 million, according to a newly released analysis by the New York City Economic Development Corporation.

These models participated in Summer Sizzle BVI, a fashion & lifestyle event that attracts the fashion industry and visitors to the islands, and offer an opportunity to experience fashion on a grand scale. The event also introduce aspiring models to international designers and media who might not otherwise see them.
