ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Government officials, workers and delegates from the private sector gathered along with His Excellency Hon. Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, in an effort to show reverence to God, thanking him and asking him for guidance for the way forward.

As was first and accurately reported by Virgin Islands News Online, Vice President of the Republic of Kenya Dr. Kalonzo- Musyoka, was the keynote speaker of the Fifth National Prayer Breakfast at the Treasure Isle Hotel, today May 25, 2012.

In his address, Dr. Musyoka told the attendees that Kenya has come a long way from where it is today. He stated that political wars, violence and greed ran rampantly in his country but peace has been restored.

He spoke about the children in Africa, their misfortune on not receiving proper education and their excessive use of guns and spreading terror where ever they go. In thanking God, the Vice- President assured the attendees that the problem has been resolved and peace is evident.

“Africa was once a continent dark in every sense, where evil spirits seemed to abound endlessly. But the gospel of Jesus Christ broke every barrier that’s involved in witch craft, Voodoo etc, and we are now free.”

As a result, he stated that his country is now blessed and flourishing abundantly.

Referring to Kenya as home for people of slave ancestral background, he invited the attendees to come home or visit home, for them to get firsthand on what it is like and receive piece of their background.

Vice President Musyoka added, “if you come with me to Kenya, the country that lies on the Eastern End of Africa’s Continent, you will definitely agree with me that you experience a connection that is terribly overdue.”

He told the attendees he is delighted to be in the VI and he feels just as home.

Dr. Stephen encouraged them to seek God in all they do, to own up to the blood of Jesus and his gift of freedom.

Along with Vice President Musyoka, in attendance were; Member of Parliament for Kamukunji, Hon. Yusuf Hassan and Member of Parliament for Kiwezi Hon. Philip Kaloki.

The National Prayer Breakfast was hosted by the Speaker of the House and Members of the House of Assembly who decided to set aside a specific time annually to acknowledge God’s guidance and protection of the Territory and its people.

Deputy Premier, Dr. Hon. Kedrick. Pickering chaired the event.

This man is an African. I was born and raised an African. We saw the Idols and Idol worship at the worst. The books in Africa have the record of what civilization was between 12 and 18th centuries when it was a taboo to bear twin children. Humans were buried along with dead kings so that the kings could have them as servants in the next world. I grew to see traces and relics of these things. Before the advent of the gospel, it was all about African religion which involved so much of occultism, mysticism, voodoo etc. Emperor Haile Salasie was here and she pleaded that folks should desist from worshiping his father who never claimed to be god. Is it not amazing that folks like you believe that the arc of covenant is kept in a run that only one person can enter.. What a deception. Why would you think you know Africa more than someone who lived all his live in Africa practicing Africanism. Glory be to God, that the light of the gospel, shinned in Africa and delivered it from being a dark continent.

I wish he would take his message to Antigua and the Antiguians buy into the message and walk with their mole Myrant' an they just leave him over their. I'm sure he could find some tribe there to submit to his rule. Thats what he really wants, it would be a dream come true his and mine.

I am so happy the brother visit the BVI from Kenya, in Africa for too often our minds are blocked by prejudices or by images by the white world which gives a negative impression of the realities of Africa, the fruit of a bleak analysis..... It is tempting to point to what does not work in Africa; it is easy to assume the judgmental tone of the moralizer or of the so called European expert who imposes his or her conclusions and proposes, at the end of the day, few useful solutions...kudos Mr. Vice President
