VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI - The Opposition Virgin Islands Party (VIP) candidate for District 9, Mr Vincent O. Wheatley, has stepped up his game in the quest to represent the people of Virgin Gorda and Anegada.

Yesterday Monday, January 7, 2019, Mr Wheatley opened his official campaign Headquarters that will also be used as his office.

Speaking exclusively to our news desk, the VIP candidate noted that, “if you are serious about representing people you have to make yourself available in the first instance and ready and able to assist thereafter.”

At the office opening, Mr Wheatley had his first visitor, a young entrepreneur and fisherman who explained his vision for taking fishing to the next level and making it more viable for fisherman while being environmentally responsible.

Where is the office?

The former Sister Islands Coordinator with the local Government noted that the office is located in the Hon Ralph T. O’Neal building, South Valley.  Resents of both Virgin Gorda and Anegada can reach the political aspirant at 1-284-544-9418.

Meanwhile, despite some heated exchanges on social media between him and one of his opponents, Mr Wheatley confirmed to our news centre that he will be participating in a political debate scheduled for Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at the Catholic Community Centre at 7:30 PM.

The event is being organised by a group of Virgin Gorda youths and our new desk will bring full coverage of the debate.

@ not2sure: debates don’t vote we the people do: I find most of the politicians just speaking about the past issues and circumstances of the past: the territory needs projections as we where we ought to come 2030

How did he do so? The young people ask for one and they all agreed. Why he tried to opt out?
