Congrats to Premier designate Andrew A. Fahie (D-1 elect) and the green new team! It is a new day and dawn of a new era. Winning is one thing and governing is yet another thing altogether. The territory is faced with a myriad of challenges so there is no honey moon for the green new team and it has to hit the ground sprinting, working from a plan and prioritizing actions. Celebrate tonite, for the hard work starts tomorrow morning.

The expectations will be high for the new government; the challenge will be meeting the high expectations with limited resources. The electorate job is not over; it cannot go in hibernation; it must stay engaged to ensure government is transparent, responsible and accountable.

A pageant this was not. The machines could not have been rigged or there would have been an upset in the second and third. Sadly, the green moss from the gutter was mistaken for the lily pads at the top of a pond. Guh Siddung and lick your red wounds in the corner... or St. Lucia!

Congratulations to all the winners. Now let us put away the divisive and nasty comments and come together to work for the good of these Virgin Islands we say we love. I call on the winners to take the high road and be gracious in victory and I call on those who didn't win to take the high road and be gracious in defeat. A lot of nasty things have been said by people on all sides -- let us forgive and come together, and let our leaders set the example for their supporters to follow. Let's teach our children a better lesson than we've done throughout this election campaign by showing them how to win and how to lose. This place is very small and we have some tough battles ahead -- it will take ALL of us (regardless of party affiliation, regardless of country of origin) working TOGETHER for there to be any long-term victory for this territory.

He thought he could side swipe a lot of us, and pay out the usual cronies to bring in the win! He thought by buying out 6th District he was sure to win! But what he failed to calculate was the fact that a lot of those people he has used his power to degrade! And so has the lady who remains in the 6th! Well mam you had 8 years of being in power and cried how you couldn’t get work done! Now in the opposition let’s truly see what you are made of!!! You were very selective in who you choose to help! I wonder if this tactic is one you will continue as your win was not by a mile! Be careful what you do, because the head of the poison was made to have several seats, do better mam or next time around you’ll join him in defeat!!

@Miscalculations! Well said! Let's see what the 6th District Rep. is made of. Whem she had Power, she accomplished Nothing, yet she in hanging by a thread. We no worry, we still have the VIP to up lift and rejuvenate the entire 6th District. Talk about Lame Ducks! #Opposition

Bad idea putting VIP back in power. You all forgot why you put them out. Look all the money funneled into their campaign. Only now you’ll see corruption. Andrew is a decent person (or so it seems) but he is not the leader you need. Well I hope I’m wrong for the sake of the territory but the new four years will tell. They better not use NDP as an excuse because we were on pir way up.
