VIP rocks out with 'OneLoveVI' concert

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – It was good vibes, celebration and comradery under the cool Virgin Islands (VI) weather when the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) staged its 'OneLoveVI' concert last Saturday evening, February 23, 2019, on the final weekend ahead of the February 25, 2019, General Elections in the Territory.

Entertaining and enticing the patrons were several performers including, It’s a Secret Band, Showtime Band, Revelation, Sistah Joyce, J-Latoy, Shine I, Ritical, OMG, VIBE and BDJ who all had the crowds dancing at singing aloud in the parking lot across from Digicel in Road Town, Tortola.

Restoring Hope

Chairman of the VIP, Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) in speaking briefly during the musical performances, underscored the importance of voting and exercising that right in order to bring about change in the territory. Further, he touched on some aspects of the VIP Manifesto 2019, in reiterating his commitment to the people of the VI once elected.

“This election is about restoring hope, it’s about how to minimise your expenses versus your income so that you have more disposable income, so the Virgin Islands Party when you vote for us, you’re voting for a party that will do a land bank in every single district where our young people can get their lands to purchase for good prices,” Hon Fahie said told those gathered.

1000 jobs is easy – Hon Fahie

The VIP Chairman also spoke about his plans to create 1000 jobs once in office, “Getting 1000 jobs in 1000 days is not difficult for any government that goes in to work on your behalf, the first thing you have to do is get the economy revived… invest in new industries and also strengthen existing industries. So it’s nothing too difficult to do,” Hon Fahie said.  

The event started at 5:00pm and went throughout the evening. According to the VIP, profits from the sale of food and beverages at the event will be donated to the BVI Cancer Society.
