VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI – The trial involving a Vincentian, who allegedly raped a Canadian woman on a beach in 2011, will continue on March 26, 2012 with the Virtual Complainant (VC) continuing her testimony.

It is alleged that Kenton Alexander raped the VC on Savannah Bay beach in the wee hours of Sunday August 14, 2011.

The trial began on Monday on Virgin Gorda (VG) with the investigating officer and the VC taking the stand. However, the VC is yet to be crossed examined by Alexander’s lawyer – Herbert McKenzie.

According to court records, the VC knew the individual, who resides on the island.

The alleged victim is said to be in her late 20s or early 30s.

Virgin Islands News Online spoke with a Social Worker who said that while there are not many incidents of rape reported in the Virgin Islands, less than 40 percent of the victims are adults.
