VIEC to host rally & debate on Beef Island Project

Candidates from all political parties are being invited to debate the Beef Island Project, the fishing industry and sustainable development
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Virgin Islands Environmental Council (VIEC) will host a Rally and Political Candidate Debate about the Beef Island Development Project on Thursday 20th October 2011 in the Noel Lloyd Park between 3 p.m. – 8 p.m., a press release from the council stated.

Candidates from all political parties are being invited to debate the Beef Island Project, the fishing industry and sustainable development at 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. All candidates are welcome to participate. All media is also invited to attend.

In addition, Guest Speakers, including local fishermen, will be speaking on the importance of the fishing industry. Information will be on hand to educate the public on the significance of our fishing industry and the negative impact of the Beef Island Development. Fresh Local Fish will be on sale by BVI fishermen, and vendors will be selling local fish and fungi.
