VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI - Businessman and Philanthropist in the Virgin Islands, David V. Johnson, who is also the Chairman of Victor International, extended his arms today, May 2, 2012, to the St. Mary's School in the Valley, Virgin Gorda, where he donated eight Dell Laptops and a $10,000 cheque.

Mr. Johnson said the future of the VI is the children and the education of the children is the fundamental principle that will determine the future of the people in the VI all the way around.

He stated that he is committed to education, and that education is a life time journey and takes the opportunity to help out in the educational field in any way he can.

Principle of the St. Mary's School, Mrs. Laura Fox said, the computer lab means a great deal to the school. "At our school we stand on certain pillars …one of the main pillars we stand on is technology, computer technology, some of our students are very familiar with computers, so what it means for us is that we can get back to our curriculum."

She stated that some of the students are well versed in Microsoft Office skills such as Microsoft Word and Power Point.

"We teach our children hear at St. Mary's School how to use the internet, we show them websites that are friendly and beneficial to them and how to retrieve that information when they need it again."

She said that through the donation made by Mr. Johnson, the lab will be fully functional and would be able to teach the children on the proper equipment.

Mrs. Fox added that the computers they had before had reached its limits, and then was substituted by some second hand computers.

"We all know that computers have their life span, so over the years they have slowly died off, but the school was fortunate to receive a donation of 11 computers last year, which kept us running since then."

Mrs. Fox said St. Mary's is very grateful for the donation made by Mr. Johnson to the revival of the school's computer lab.

Chairman of the school, Mr. David O'Neal, thanked Mr. Johnson for his donation and said that he hopes this is the beginning of a long and mutually rewarded relationship, between St. Mary's School and Victor International.

The St. Mary's school is an early childhood school that fosters children from the ages of 1- 12.

Boss you need to be donating bigger than that. We appreciate it but I know you can do better. All these resorts and developments need to donate to an environmental fund that will be monitored by a select committee, they can be on the committee as well to ensure funds are utilized properly. It can be used to clean up our beaches and other environmental needs. They can also donate a lot more to the schools. Come on Corporate BVI, step up!

About TIME David!!!! Now how about the public schools? What about internships at your exclusive encalve? Where was your corporate good citizenship during the past VG Easter festivities? You need to do more - not less!
