VI turning into a failed state
He went on to describe what he referred to as the divisive ‘triangulation’ that is turning the Virgin Islands (VI) into a failed State.
“In one corner you have the AG (Attorney General) and the Governor, in another corner you have Premier (Dr the Honourable D. Orlando) Smith, Ministers (Mark H.) Vanterpool and (Myron V.) Walwyn and in yet another corner you have Ministers (Ronnie W.) Skelton and (Kedrick D.) Pickering, all fighting against each other, in an effort to hold on to power or gain more power.”
In the mean time, the people’s business is not being adequately attended to, “recovery is stalled, the citizens are increasingly growing despondent and the United Kingdom (UK) is closing in…We need Elections now”.
Front Bench/ Back Bench
The social commentator said too, “by the way, that’s just the front bench on the back bench, the member from the 8th (District) has aligned himself with the Premier’s clan and has accused the AG—who for the first time in recent history had to stand up in the House of Assembly (HoA) and defend his name and the credibility of his office against the Government of misleading the HoA which is synonymous with calling him a liar.”
The member from the Second District has sided with Ministers Skelton and Pickering corner, who also in the sitting of the HOA on September 20, 2018, accused the Premier and Minister of Finance and his government of which he is a part of not being completely honest with the people as to the condition of the Territory.
Skelton Cline also called to remembrance the song “we were all taught as children and began to sing as he was joined by Dr Karl Dawson and Mr Carvin Malone, “London bridge is falling down, falling down falling down, London bridge is falling down in Tortola…if this thing was not so real it would be comical he opined but it is real and our people deserves so much better, we need Election Now.”
