ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The Virgin Islands (VI) has recorded 2 more COVID-19 cases and 7 recoveries as of September 11, 2020, a statement from the Government Information Service (GIS) said Friday evening shortly before midnight.

The new statistics come from a report issued by the Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon Carvin Malone (AL) that the total active COVID-19 cases in the Territory is now 28 since his last update on September 10, 2020.

According to Hon Malone as of September 11, 2020, 34 additional persons were tested which resulted in 32 negatives that included the seven (7) recoveries and the two (2) new positive results.

VI limited spread of virus - Hon Malone

“This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases recorded in the Territory to 66, the total active COVID-19 cases to 28, the total number of recoveries to 37 and the total number of deaths being one person.”

In the September 10, 2020, COVID-19 update the Health Minister credited strict adherence to the COVID-19 guidelines by the VI populace, as resulting in a reduction of cases and spread of the virus, thus paving the way for the territory to continue on its economic re-opening path.

“Your compliance with the existing curfew measures have helped tremendously to limit the spread of the virus, which puts us in a stronger position to continue on our quest to re-open our society, our economy and our borders,” Hon Malone said.

It remains unclear the origins of the new COVID-19 cases or whether they are linked to previously confirmed instances of the virus.

Because it’s clearly used in a derogatory, xenophobic manner.
Also, the “othering” of people is in direct opposition to what BVIslanders profess to believe in, the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Every country has the stupid few and right now we have the stupid blogging few who keep on talking bout island people to get votes next election but trust me majority of the BVIslanders don’t fall under that umbrella that you post up there. Stop judging all BVIslanders off of the stupid few.

That is not true and that thought is truly distasteful/reprehensible. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. Please love and respect yourself and then you will find it easier to love others and appreciate a cheerful giver. Hate destroys!!

These stupid people that calling down others are not necessarily bvislanders. The majority of the bvi people are good and respectable beside a small group of ignorant and uneducated ones that is behind this blaming game .

You really went there? Stop hating and do your homework about your own country and incest and rape and murder.

Plus for the fact that so much BVIslanders marry people from the other islands goes to show that all the island people hating is being faked. It’s sad that some of you actually falling for it.
