VI encouraged to nominate a woman for Restoration Weekend
Restoration Weekend 2016 is heading to the territory for its 9th annual event, September 29-October 3, 2016. With a theme of “Living Our Best Days,” the luxury empowerment weekend is set to deliver a programme that will inspire, empower and catapult attendees toward their goals and dreams.
Founder of the event Ms Hargrove said, “We are blessed to be a blessing. Every time Restoration Weekend enters a country, we make it a priority to give back through our Restoring Hope programme.”
She said sponsoring a local woman is top of the agenda this year. “This year we want to sponsor a lady from the BVI community who may not be able to afford to attend, but has goals and aspirations that this weekend will help develop. We want to just love on her, give her a make-over by our celebrity glam team and help her to see herself as the beautiful queen she was created to be.”
Restoration Weekend was introduced to women of the Virgin Islands on June 21, 2016 when a bevy of mainly professional women converged at the J.R. O’Neal Botanical Garden in Road Town and was told by Ms Hargrove to get “unapologetically selfish” for one weekend.

Restoration Weekend is a 5-day, 4 night experience of serenity, reconnection and personal revival for women who need to “restore” themselves from the many hats they wear as busy wives, mothers, caregivers and career women. During this time of restoration, 50 women from all walks of life and various parts of the world, come together to be inspired, uplifted and empowered by industry leaders, events and sessions focused on business, empowerment, nutrition, relationships and physical maintenance. Restoration Weekend was founded in 2007 by Michelle Hargrove, when she walked through her own journey of restoration after giving birth to a 1 pound, 6 ounce premature baby.
