SOPHER’S HOLE, Tortola, VI – If you own a smartphone and happen to want something to eat, then with a new app you can seek out what’s available from the comfort of your car, desk or wherever you happen to be.

The new app is called VI Bites and is available for downloads from Google Play or the Apple App Store.

With the innovative new app, users can browse what’s on offer at restaurants and coffee shops and place their orders. In addition, as part of the promotion, persons can benefit from free meals.

Yesterday December 19, 2015, owner and developer of the app John J. Samuels explained what the app was all about during a demonstration at D Best Cup coffee shop in Sopher’s Hole, West End.

“The application was built specifically for local restaurants and what the application allows users to do is check the menus of local restaurants or place orders in participating restaurants,” said the software developer.

“D Best Cup is one of the restaurants that is taking orders at this moment,” he said.

“Also the way we are promoting the application is by giving free meals. We’re going to be giving free lunches to people who collect some bracelets."

Samuels said he has been promoting the app for roughly a month and a half and so far there have been over 180 downloads.

“We are supporting Android and IOS (Apple). But the most important thing is that the app is free for download."

I'm unable to find the app on Android. There is an app called VI Bites but it's for healthy snacks.

Good move, now I'm looking forward to see this linking up with most if not all local restaurants in the BVI and offering delivery for a price or free deliveries on orders over a certain price
