VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI – When the Virgin Gorda Easter Festival Committee decided to change the customary route of the annual Rise & Shine tramp to start from the Virgin Gorda branch of the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College, they were answering a popular call.

The tramp which was staged earlier this morning April 21, 2014 saw one of the largest crowds in years and one that way surpassed that of 2013.

It was the party truck which had on board Virgin Islands (VI) local Boss from the Showtime band alongside Kylo, Daddy Shaw, Daddy Saso and Poison band that kept the pace along the route until they got to the Grace Vanterpool Festiville where they unified as one until the 8:00 hour.

Members of the committee including its Chair Ms Sasha D. A. Flax and Public Relations Officer Mr Jerrell A. Gorge were all on point from the start, making their observations and assisting the security forces including the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) in keeping an eagle eye to ensure all goes well.

Speaking with this news site shortly before the close of music for the early morning tramp PRO George said that the committee was very pleased that they were successful at answering most of the calls especially those of breakfast vendors.

He said that in some way or the other all the businesses/food houses/stalls were able to cash in on sales that they did not enjoy in previous years.

He said that there is some tweaking to be done to make even better in the future but the fact that they listened to the calls gave some sense of accomplishment.

Commenting on the mix of trampers Mr George said that the rise and shine fete was dominated by the more youthful population. He said that in years gone by the involvement of the more grown folks was the order of the day.

“I think it was the bands that made the difference but we want to have everyone participate so that’s one thing for us to examine by probably including another truck for the more mature people,” he said.

But where jougo I thought he was suppose to be on the truck to. But I guess what they said was true jougo refuse to be on any stage with Boss. But that is very childish. If that is so jougo I'm very disappointed in you man up

Is this the character we should be displaying to our young people??? What message are sending out to them?? Why can't we have other activities rather than this ESPECIALLY around Easter time?? Is this how we prove to the world that we are men and women?? Is this how we expect to gain respect from others??? Is this what the government putting thousands of dollars towards EVERY year???

The only thing I agree...is that they can switch this propaganda from being on Easter,.,...But other than that, just stay home. Young ppl will ALWAYS find a way to do things if they want to do it....Public dancing will not hinder such actions!!

some of u make me sick...everything in the BVI is a problem. #1This is wa jouvert about what u want them do walk in straight line and clap to the beat...#2 If jugo cared to sing his behind would have sung, everybody had a mic, even sasso who wasnt suppose to sing went up n sing a tune n came dwn, jugo to damn childish....#3 people always wa talk talk talk about how others look when they dnt check themselves what somebody wearing or behaving shldnt concern u they enjoying themselves maybe some of you need to get a life or participate from always looking mellee!!

It's funny how so many ppl come on these news sites with their various opinions.....most of them bashing something, someone or everyone. Even when Miss Easter Festival was crowned everyone was busy giving their small minded comments. If you guys so much flippin bad things to say, why ya dont tell people to there faces. It only goes to show some of you aint got the guts and is all talk. Stick to ya news sites to say wa you want God knows ayo too cowardly to do it in person..........I out......PEACE!!!!
