VG Govt. officers call for meeting with Premier
Residents and employees alike on the Sister Islands said that the problem being faced by the BVITB office on Virgin Gorda is not an isolated one and many other offices suffer the same fate.
“It’s just that someone in the Tourist Board office got the balls to stand up or rather take the lead and bring this issue in the open and I personally thank that person,” said an employee of a certain government VG department.
Several calls were made to Jost Van Dyke and Anegada as well and the complaints were the same.
“To tell you the truth because I trust you to keep my identity secured I go out and do other things and make a extra dollar and even do volunteer stuff in my community because there is absolutely noting that I am allowed to do over here, mind you there are lots to be done but they don’t allow us to do our jobs and when something gets heavy, which could have been avoided in the first place, they would send persons from Tortola who come like the boss and take over and doing things ill informed and ill-advised and most time we have to turn around and redo their stupidness,” said a Government employee on Anegada.
The complaints were universal on all the three Sister Islands when it came to dealing with especially Water and Sewerage Department (W&SD) and BVI Electricity Corporation. “We have work to do but we get instruction not to do things and the all the time send people from Tortola to do our job as if we are not competent, we know our jobs but for some reason they behave like Tortola workers better than us which is bull,” said a W&SD VG worker.
They said that their needs to be a meeting with the Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Honourable D. Orlando Smith in the presence of the various department heads for workers to speak candidly about the issue as they feels these concerns do not reach him.
“We usually have to depend on VINO, many people say all sorts of things about VINO but it’s the candid unbiased site that gives all sides and people reading that site so will have to come to VINO if it comes to that. I personally on several instance called, approached a certain other news site (name called) and they told me and other point blank they can’t carry our story, for real I even have a conversation on record to prove that,” said a VG resident and government employee.

A poet once said: "there is no progress in life unless there is change".
The British Virgin Islands needs a change in administration!
It's the BVI Tourist Board, not VG Tourist Board or Tortola Tourist Board. We are our own worst enemies. They should contract some white people from UK or USA to run it so they can stop the f..king bickering over every minor bull..it.
