Vanessa Garraway is new ESHS Deputy Principal
This is after Deputy Principal Mrs. Connie George was transferred to the Department of Education to streamline the activities for the accreditation process- an initiative started by former Minister for Education and Culture Hon. Andrew A. Fahie.
The current Minister for Education and Culture Hon. Myron V. Walwyn has continued the goal of accreditation and confirmed, in an answer to a question from Hon. Fahie at a recent sitting of the House of Assembly, that Mrs. George would assist with that process.
Mrs. Garraway, a Virgin Islander, started her teaching career at the Althea Scatliffe Primary School. Her specialty is Mathematics. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of the Virgin Islands.
The announcement of her appointment to the post of Acting Deputy Principal was made late last week at the school following a staff meeting, according to this news site’s many sources within the Education Department.
With the sick leave of current Acting Principal Wade W. Tobin, a story firstly and accurately reported by this news site, Mrs. Garraway is in charge of the school.
The Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) is the largest secondary school in the Virgin Islands.

Are these positions ever advertise? Are only the apple ofcthe CEO's are selected?
Vanessa has been running eshs ever since Ms. Scatliffe left, dont be fooled by those that had big positions they dont know squat!!! The past minister continued to walk over her to put in his cronies and ran the school down, God bless vanessa didnt throw in the towel and still showed good faith. Mr. Tobin needs a strong person to have his back and Vanessa is that person. She has always been there helping out during vacation while those with positions are on vacation. God Bless you Vanessa, I know the staff has prayed hard and welcomed this news.....
