CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI — The [US] Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) is seeking the community’s assistance in locating a man named Tahira Charles, 32, who police say is wanted in connection with the first degree murder that occurred on June 25, 2016 in the vicinity of First Stop Gas Station on Rumer Road in Estate Thomas, US Virgin Islands.

Mr Charles is black, has locked black hair and brown eyes. He is widely known by his moniker “cosmo” and frequents Tutu High Rise, according to the VIPD.

The June 25, 2016 shooting occurred at about 11:03 P.M. Several residents called the 911 emergency call center reporting shots fired in the area of the gas station, and upon arrival to the scene, officers made contact with an unresponsive male, later identified as 22-year-old Caseam Daniel, who had been shot multiple times and succumbed to his injuries on the scene.

Police are asking residents that might come into contact with Mr Charles to “approach him with caution.”

The force is asking anyone with information that may lead to his whereabouts or arrest, to contact the Homicide Task Force at 340-714-9823, 911 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477.
