UPDATE: Woman granted bail in stabbing incident
Irene Mars, 21, of Purcell Estate was placed on $30,000 station bail after being charged on April 2, 2014 for stabbing her ex-boyfriend, Romano Peters a few days earlier.
Virgin Islands News Online understands that the stabbing incident stemmed from a domestic quarrel the two had over their young child.
Peters, 26, was allegedly stabbed after dealing the woman several blows in the presence of another person. His current condition is unknown after emergency surgery performed following the incident.
Mars is now scheduled to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on May 16, 2014 to answer charges in the matter.

UPDATE: Police charge woman in stabbing incident
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Police have today April 2, 2014 charged a 21 year old female with wounding with intent after her ex-boyfriend received a stab wound to his abdomen.
“Irene Mars of Purcell Estate was served a copy of her charge,” said the Police press release today.
According to the release, initial inquiries suggest that the couple was having an argument at Mars’ residence when the incident occurred this past Sunday evening.
The release said that the man was taken to Peebles Hospital where he continues to receive treatment. It concluded by saying that the scheduled court appearance Irene Mars is still pending.

UPDATE: Stabbing victim requires emergency surgery

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The victim in last night’s March 31, 2014 stabbing following an alleged domestic dispute requires emergency surgery at the Peebles Hospital.
According to a source at the Peebles Hospital, the victim remains in a serious condition. “He was stabbed in the region of his abdomen,” said the source, adding that the victim received one stab wound.
The man’s name has been given as Romano Peters, a basketball player with the Talk Done Basketball Team.
Police Public Relations Officer Diane Drayton told Virgin Islands News Online that the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force is conducting investigations into the incident. She said that no arrests have been made and that she will inform if and when arrests have been made or charges are laid with regard to the incident.
This news site has been informed by a source that it is more than likely that the charge could be attempted murder, wounding with intent or unlawful and malicious wounding.

Man allegedly stabbed in domestic fracas
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - (Post Time - 11:25PM) A twenty-six year old man was up to post time tonight, March 31, 2014 nursing stab wounds at the Peebles Hospital after an alleged domestic dispute turned violent earlier in the evening.
According to reports reaching Virgin Islands News Online, the man was allegedly stabbed by his girlfriend following a dispute between the two involving their young child. Reports indicate that the woman was allegedly struck by the man before he was stabbed.
The man is said to be in serious condition at this time.
Details are sketchy at this time but information reaching this news site indicates that the incident occurred at the woman's home in Purcell Estate in the presence of at least one other witness.

As a white person I can honestly say that there are good and bad in everyone and there are plenty of bad white people in this world.
should she be locked up for defending herself????? Give the law time to sort it out first before they throw a her in jail. Doesn't she have a kid to care for?? He was supposed to walk away from the argument they had not hit her.... Now he is paying for attacking a woman. I hope he lives and she doesn't go to jail for defending herself. I mean what kind of law is it to say we should not defend ourselves!!
