UPDATE: VIP Congress Elections postponed until general meeting is held
The VIP internal election was slated for this evening, September 2, 2015 at Maria’s By The Sea.
Meanwhile, the officers will remain in place until such time, including Chairman Hon Julian Fraser RA (D3) and President Mr Carvin Malone.
It is unclear how many delegates remained out of the 76 when the resolution was voted on as Virgin Islands News Online was told that some delegates had left the room over issues regarding the delegates list.
Some persons had reportedly expressed concerns at the meeting after learning they were removed from the delegates list while others allegedly realised their status had changed to alternate delegate.
It was not immediately known who the candidates were for the various posts, including that of Chairman, President or Secretary.

Controversy erupts at VIP Congress meeting over two delegates lists for D2
- VIP internal elections postponed until 'outstanding matters' are addressed
There was controversy at the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) Congress meeting this evening, September 2, 2015, at Maria's By The Sea as, according to reports reaching Virgin Islands News Online, the election of office bearers to the party was delayed then postponed over, among other things, two delegates lists being submitted for the Second District.
Reports reaching this news site is that there was an argument over which delgates list should be used for District 2.
It is being reported by sources inside the meeting that Head of Delegation and former 2nd District candidate Rajah A. Smith submitted a list, however, another list was also allegedly submitted by Ms Kimberly Kuntz.
There was also a count to confirm whether there was a quorum for business to continue as some delegates had reportedly walked out of the congress meeting at Maria's By The Sea in Road Town.
Finally, almost an hour and a half late, the meeting restarted with a resolution from the 7th and 8th Districts to postpone the VIP Executive Committee Election until a number of outstanding matters are addressed.
It is still not confirmed whether the post of Chairman will see Honourable Julian Fraser RA (R3) being a contender. The last time this news site sought clarification from Honourable Fraser he was unwilling to comment, saying that doing so will be inimical to the party.
It is expected, however, that there might be a showdown between the two members of the party who are in the House of Assembly, Honourable Fraser and Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1) for the position of Chairman. Hon Fahie had also not stated publicly whether he would challenge Hon Fraser for the post of Chairman.
It is also not clear if anyone would be challenging Carvin Malone for the position of President of the VIP or whether Malone would be seeking re-election.
Virgin Islands News Online will bring you more information as it comes in.
