UPDATE: VG accident victim in critical condition- RVIPF

VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI – The pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on Virgin Gorda at the weekend is in critical condition, according to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).

Virgin Islands News Online had first and accurately reported about the incident on May 23, 2016 and had sought confirmation from the RVIPF.

In a press release issued late yesterday, the RVIPF confirmed the incident, stating that Police are investigating a traffic collision that has left a male pedestrian in critical condition at Peebles Hospital.

“The pedestrian was among persons gathered at an empty lot along the North Public Road sometime after midnight on Sunday.”

The RVIPF further said the driver of the vehicle in the collision has been identified and is cooperating with Police in relation to their investigations.

Any persons with information that can assist with this investigation should contact the Virgin Gorda Police Station through the RVIPF’s 311 number. Persons can also contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit directly at 368-9339.

Pedestrian struck by vehicle on VG

A man is said to be in serious condition after he was struck by a vehicle on Virgin Gorda Sunday night, May 22, 2016.

According to reports reaching this news site, the man was walking on the road when he was hit from behind.

He is currently a patient at Peebles Hospital.

Police Information Officer Diane Drayton did not respond to queries on the matter up to publication time.
