VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- Shemar Trim and Deria D. Joseph have been crowned Mr GQ and Miss Gorgeous respectively.

The two contestants triumphed when the Virgin Gorda Festival Committee staged the 2015 Mr GQ & Miss Gorgeous contest at the Catholic Community Centre in Valley, Virgin Gorda on April 25, 2015.

The 34-year-old Joseph beat off the competition of Dominique A. M. Maloney and Davina Mitchel for the title. She also picked up prizes for Intellect, Poise, Lingerie, Talent and Evening Wear.

“The experience was spectacular,” Ms Joseph told Virgin Islands News Online, noting that Talent was her best segment.

Asked how she feels having won the crown, a modest Ms Joseph said, “It feels normal, though I'm excited, the win hasn't changed anything.”

A fourth contestant, Ms Krystle Maduro had dropped put following the death of her father Mr Gene ‘Bau Bau Gene’ Maduro who was laid to rest yesterday.

Meanwhile, at the fashion segment at the beginning of the show contestants rocked outfits from various stores on Virgin Gorda and Ms Joseph was proud to represent Foot Candy.

In the Mr GQ Contest, Mr Trim had a good enough performance to emerge with the title as well as a number of prizes, including for Best Evening Wear, Best Talent, Best Poise, Intellect, Best Swim Wear and Mr Photogenic.

“The experience was interesting and amazing. I enjoyed every minute of it,” the 19-year-old Trim told this news site.

“It feels amazing. I am very happy and appreciative. It has boosted my self-confidence and has now put me in a certain light in the community which makes me a role model,” Mr Trim added.

The other Mr GQ contestants were Jeremy Rubaine, Li’Shaquah Fahie and Eddie Edward Cupid Young.

According to the Chairwoman of the Virgin Gorda Festival Committee, Sasha D. A. Flax, the show was heavily supported by persons from both Virgin Gorda and Tortola.

“The show overall was pretty good. There was good attendance. There were a lot of supporters that came over from Tortola,” Ms Flax told this news site.

Mr GQ & Miss Gorgeous on tonight in VG

The buzz will be at the Catholic Community Centre in Valley, Virgin Gorda this evening, April 25, 2015 when the Virgin Gorda Festival Committee stages the 2015 Mr GQ & Miss Gorgeous contest.

Four beautiful young ladies and four handsome young men will display their talent, intelligence and creativity to the audience and judges as they seek the enviable titles and prizes on offer.

The Miss Gorgeous contestants are Krystle Maduro, Dominique A M Maloney, Davina Mitchel and Deria Joseph.

The Mr GQ contestants are Jeremy Rubaine, Li’Shaquah Fahie, Eddie Edward Cupid Young and Shemar Trim.

Showtime is 7:30pm and “expect a fun-filled and exciting evening for adults,” said Public Relations Officer of the Virgin Gorda Festival Committee, Mr Jerrell A. George.

The segments for men are Introduction, Swimwear, Talent and Evening Wear while the Miss Gorgeous segments are Introduction, Lingerie, Talent, Evening Wear and Question and Answer.
