ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The six schools that participated in this year’s Inter-Primary Schools Cheerleading Competition have been credited for raising the level of the competition when compared to its debut year, 2017.

The annual competition, which did not happen in 2018 due to the 2017 hurricanes, made a commendable come back despite having two teams less this time around.

Time of year for competition to be reviewed

BVI Cheerleading Committee’s Kennedy H. Bass credited the commitment of all involved but had a special applause for the teachers who made it happen, “We know that at this time of the year with exams, we know it is very tedious for you having exams, you having graduation ceremonies so we are happy for efforts.”

He noted however that the committee will be looking at the possibility of scheduling the competition at a less strenuous time of year.

Mr Eustace C. Freeman aka ‘Boss’, who is part of the organising committee, also echoed the sentiments of Mr Bass.

“Every year the bar has been rising. This is the second year and the level of the competition has been significantly increased and we expect it to continually and gradually increase over the years ahead.”
