Speaking to this news site today July 13, 2014, Smith-Aaron said that at the time she was down at the track ensuring that everything was in place for the race. She said that she had little time to speak as she was busy.

“Yes all the preparations are in place. The races are ready to go,” she stated when approached by Virgin Islands News Online.

Five new horses are set to blaze the tracks of Ellis Thomas Downs in Sea Cow’s Bay as the Virgin Islands Horse Owners Association gets set for the big August Tuesday meet afterwards.

SEA COW’S BAY, Tortola, VI – Five new horses are on the race card to blaze the tracks of Ellis Thomas Downs in Sea Cow’s Bay come July 13, 2014 as the Virgin Islands Horse Owners Association gets set for the big August Tuesday meet afterwards.

Speaking with Virgin Islands News Online today July 2, 2014, the Virgin Islands Horse Owners Association Racing Secretary Mr Dwight E. Clyne confirmed that there are indeed five horses to hit the track for the first time.

Those newcomers are Southern Dunn, Fort Pyrmaid, Halo's Midas Touch, Majestic Express and Kanavayen. Of the group this news site understands that Fort Pyrmaid and Halo's Midas Touch are being brought by Rodney 'Mileage' Simmonds.

Majestic Express and Kanavayen are also said to be coming from one owner.

Of the five races set for the day the newcomers can be seen doing their thing in races 3, 4 and 5.

Veteran race horse owner Ms Violet ‘Letty’ Hodge said that she has been off-Island for some time now and couldn’t keep abreast with the happenings as it relates to the races for this period. But she said that she is very confident that her horse 'Buy Buy Buy' is well fit and ready to defeat its challengers.

Among the other regulars are True Essence, Miss Homer, Power Ten, Good Boy Daddy, Orithyia, Man From the Hill, Kaylen Wild Kat, Joshua and Game Keeper.
