ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident which took the life of Jose Angel Titley, 63, in a boating accident yesterday, February 10, 2014.

In a press release sent by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) today, it was disclosed that Police Marine officers are presently investigating the circumstances surrounding a boat collision which has left one local fisherman dead.

Titley, 63, of Sea Cow’s Bay was pronounced dead yesterday afternoon after being transported to Peebles Hospital the release stated.

Inquiries indicate that the deceased was travelling into Baughers Bay on a 17’ Boston Whaler while a 37’ charter boat carrying cruise passengers was heading into the Cruise Pier Tender Dock when the boats collided. The deceased was thrown into the water as a result of the collision but was rescued while still conscious. However, on his transport to the Tender Dock he lost consciousness. Efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

He was the sole occupant of the dinghy at the time of the incident. No injuries were sustained by the passengers of the charter boat and the boat tender captain is cooperating with Police investigations.

It is so true that he is coming, and until he does, whether call or come, I testify that I want to be found ready. When he comes, it wouldn't only be for the young people, it will be for all of us - the good, the evil, the just and the unjust, the educated and the uneducated, the rich the poor.

Every time the people of God bend their knees and He send rest to these islands from destruction then some group would think it cute and gratifying to invite mess back to our shores to drink the blood of our young people. The devil is come to kill steal and destroy. No body wants to heard the Church went we say don't open our islands for some of these groups to come to operate. Whatever spirit is operating in them would come in to create havoc in our land and after they are gone we would be left with the mess to clean us. These demons are now left here to fill up the devil's blood bank. How much more and who would be next.

You got it right "god" is from the imagination and can be anything. Who is talking about "god"? The mentioned here is "God". The God that is real. He doesn't need you to believe in Him for Him to be real.

@ Don King and black chiney I know Dion well enough to know he is a very diligent sailor. If it is you couldn't get him no need to bash him grow the hell up he is hurting also because if you know him you will know he has a heart and that he wouldn't WILLFULLY run his boat over a fishing boat. Grow the hell up and let the families, both sides, go through what they need to go through without YOU BOTH blogging such ignorant and stupid remarks. Go learn to spell your legal names backwards if you both don't have anything constructive to do with your times.

Heartfelt condolences to the family. It must be very tough to expect your husband and father to return from vacation and to get this kind of news in the midst of it. Take comfort in his good example, and strengthen your bond through prayer. All the best.

we were at the restaurant at the back of the cruise ship when it happened. i didn't personally see the moment of impact but i had a birds eye view a second after impact when I heard the crash and the screams of my fellow passengers. there was no reason other that the cruiser driver was either distracted or his view was blocked by passengers because he was driving in a straight line directly into the fishing boat and there were no other water craft between our ship and shore or anywhere in the vacinity. must have been a momentary lapse of awareness because from my vantage point it was impossible to explain it any other way. the sort of lapse we've all had. I feel bad for the family of the deceased as well as the man driving the cruiser.
