ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Police have identified a body found in a home in Spy Glass Hill West End as 55 year old Garry Roy of the United States.

According to a press release from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), officers today August 20, 2014 attended a West End address in response to a report of concern for the welfare of a resident.

“The caller reported a foul smell coming from the home of Garry Roy, 55. He had called at the property after Roy had failed to show up for work,” the Police release said.

“Police responded and forced their way into the home. There, they found the body of a Caucasian male motionless on the living room floor. The deceased was identified as Garry Roy and was later pronounced dead by Dr. Paula Trotman. He had apparently been dead for some time,” the Police said.

According to the release, the Coroner has been notified as have members of the family of the deceased in the USA.

“Police enquiries continue, although initial reports suggest that there are no suspicious circumstances involving the deceased, who lived alone,” the Police said.

      @the real pat:

      How do you know that is a crime, the person could have died from natural causes, stop playing the blame game and one more thing it is " these" not "deed".

      Stupid, what crime. The door had to be forced open and he was found on the floor. Who said a crime was committed? He could have died from anything medical or a heart attack. You stupid people always talking about a crime when you don't have the facts.

      this is exactly why people need to get their own identity and quit playing games. That was not my post above. I would like to think I am more educated and articulate than that. And it leads others to think I wrote that!
      no. Ask that person to get another identity.

    Please...if you live alone or have relatives that live alone...please...agree on a time that you will make contact on a daily basis. It happens more often than you realize all around the world.

    Someone realizes that Mr. or Ms. So and So didn't attend church last Saturday/Sunday which is unlike them; the boss/co-worker called to say they have not reported to work in a few days and/or the neighbor reports a foul smell after not seeing that person for quite awhile....

    Check in with your loved ones on a daily basis regardless of age, especially if they live alone.

    If a body is decomposed how long should that person been alive before death? How long has he been missing from his job? This is just not the way we live in bvi vi whatever we want to call it. This is just not becoming of us not checking on each other not a matter of minding each other's business. Come on we are not doing well.
