why are we not hearing from any of the 13-persons that we voted into leader of our country on 8 June 2015 as it relates to this current rise in gun crimes; don't any of these 13-elected officials care about us or do they only have us at heart just before an election...this has absolutely no !ucking thing to do with NDP or VIP, if such issues are left unchecked what will happen to our territory.....we meeting with our premier about NHI but i personally feel there should be a meeting about growing rise in gun crimes(for some of us that grew up in the 60's the gun-ting scary but we not afraid; if you live by the sward U will die by the sward)

u grew up in the 60's! wow i wasn't even born yet. But what do u expect them to say? That they will personally go door to door, car to car and confiscate all illegal gun? A gun amnesty that lasting a whole year and is a total joke.. Especially when persons caught with guns have high ranking family members pull strings to get off.

@ I was hacked: always remember that they will also be crime in hood(the roots and the radicals): it is sad to see the level of black on black crime in chocolate city while others out enjoying day-sailing, bike riding, jogging and snorkeling in our backyard

the Gov officials CAN'T do anything about what's going on, people have made their choices. Some will abide by the law and others choose to go against it. I work a 9-5, i dont LOVE it but it's my bread and butter. I didn't choose to go deal with drugs or other illegal activities and point the finger saying "nobody hiring". It might not pay the best but i can go where i want and i dont have to watch my back.

@lmao We are so concerned about how the body looks in the coffin but if that body didn't did in The Lord Jesus it is coming back up in the resurrection with them same stitches, bullets, cancer, whatever! If we are not covered under the blood of Jesus we will be lost in hell. We focus on fancy booklets, fancy coffins but the "Soul"! The "Soul"! If we die without Christ we are lost!

I bet the shooter(s) are known thugs who have been up to no good many times. Probably been involved with crimes that their family, friends and neighbors kept quit on because of the unwritten code to never speak the truth about evil. Chances are they should have been behind bars before this ever happened. Yet all you transfer the blame from yourselves onto the government officials! It becomes the NDP fault because you too scared to turn your brother in for being an evil mess. Well one day that person lying dead of gunshot wounds will be someone you hold dear and you will be to blame because you never provided the lead and the evidence for the police to investigate and the courts to prosecute. You are the problem. Not the NDP or the Governor. No one but yourself. You let the community down and your own family and loved ones when you are tight lipped and give crime the air to grow. You can save a life if only you recognize your code is the cause of every next crime.

I'm in Jerusalem and spent a great day in the Jewish Quarter. What's going on here in the bvi doesn't even begin to compare to the wanton gun violence (often resulting in mass slaughter) we experience weekly in America.

The U.S.A. has over 300,000,000 people.
The V.I. has over 30,000 people.
It is hardly surprising that the level of gun violence doesn't compare. That doesn't mean much.

This violence is the only way youths in the BVI after 4 years of this NDP gang have to protest. The youths now are people living in quasi-slavery, in what is, for them, a police state and where the rich get rich and the poor die and the young peopkle have no role in. These are not "murderers and inciters" any more than any group forced to live in these conditions are.

@ we cry out: do you seriously think that crime and violence is the best path to take: do you realize the average person in the territory go out and work and it is just the "few" that have taken up guns and doing !uck....typical low life nigger put the blame on every other person rather than be accountable for their actions: a significant number of persons in our territory are on permits but they go out and work day-after-day, while a few of OUR youth have taken to criminal activities and do NOT wish to work!!!!!...you will find lots more of them in their house dead, in the ghuts dead, in the bushes dead and along the same street them playing bad-boy dead.....always remember Tortola is very small and you are easy to find; police "investigates" but some persons will simply retaliate.....

I knew the victim. Not very well but well enough to say hello to and the like. I only came to know him over recent months. He was a pleasant and friendly person to meet and very often wore a smile. I believe I met the victim's young daughter too. He was bringing the young girl to school the day I met them together. My sincere condolences go out to the victim's family.

May his soul be at the right hand of God.
