VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- Two new championship teams were crowned moments ago, December 11, 2015, in the Virgin Gorda Summer Jam 2015 Basketball League Championship.

In game one, between On A Mission vs Beat Dat, it was a hard fought game to the end. However, On A Mission stayed true to their name and defeated Beat Dat 44-41 to take the 2015 Virgin Gorda Summer Jam C Division Championship.

Game two was a blow out as Buzzer Beater easily over-powered Time 2 Wuk, who seemed to be on strike. The new B Division Champions, Buzzer Beater, whipped them 86-62.

This brings to the end the 2015 Virgin Gorda Summer Jam Basketball League, which started on September 5, 2015 at the Jeffrey Caines Arena, Valley, on the sister island of Virgin Gorda. 

The three champions in this year's league are: Set it Off in Division A, Buzzer Beater in Division B, and On A Mission in Division C.

VG Summer Jam Basketball League 2015 to end tonight Dec 11, 2015

- Buzzer Beaters vs Time 2 Wuk & Beat Dat vs On A Mission in final c/ship games

The curtain will come down tonight, Friday December 11, 2015, at the annual Virgin Gorda Summer Jam League when at 7:00pm Beat Dat take on On A Mission in the C Division and at 8:30pm Buzzer Beater come up against Time 2 Wuk in the B Division of the League.

Both games will see teams going for the best out of 5 in the championship series as they are tied 2 each, which should make for a highly competitive evening of basketball. The first game will tip off at 7:00pm at the Jeffrey Caines Arena in the Valley, Virgin Gorda.

Action in the A Division last weekend saw Set it Off defeating Without a Doubt and securing their fifth consecutive championship title in the Virgin Gorda Summer Jam League.

That game was also competitive, however, in the end Set it Off took 3 out of the 4 games played to capture the title.

Ray D. Victor has bragging rights

It also made history for basketball superstar Ray D. Victor, giving him two championship titles weeks apart.

His team West Gunners secured the championship title for 2015 in the popular Hon Julian Fraser Save the Seed National Basketball League by defeating Splash Brothers with a two-game clean sweep in the best of three series. West Gunners will receive their Digicel (BVI) sponsored championship rings next year at the opening ceremony for the Hon Julian Fraser Save the Seed League.

VG Summer Jam & Hon Fraser League leading tournaments in VI

The Hon Julian Fraser Save the Seed National Basketball League on Tortola and the Virgin Gorda Summer Jam League have emerged as the two premier basketball tournaments in the Virgin Islands.

Both leagues have attracted some of the best and elite basketball players in the Virgin Islands, including those away playing basketball in college and visiting players from the United States Virgin Islands. The two leagues have also been successful in attracting sponsorship from the corporate community.
