DORAL, Florida, USA – January 21, 2015 was yet another day in the life of Ms Jaynene Jno-Lewis as she took the stage of the Miss Universe 2015 pageant keeping the flag and name of the Virgin Islands soaring as she represented ‘Lady Ursula’ with her national costume.
Earlier today January 23, 2015 Ms Jno-Lewis communicated directly with this news site via social media and she was very upbeat about being able to represent and advertise the Virgin Islands. In sharing about her costume, ‘Lady Ursula’ she said it is a modern day depiction of the VI crest.
“St. Ursula was a Roman Catholic Saint after whom Christopher Columbus named the whole archipelago of Islands,” she reflected in giving a brief history. She continued that St. Ursula and her 11,000 Virgin followers were slaughtered by the Huns for their faith. Today the Virgin Islands have expressed their gratitude to St. Ursula by establishing a regional holiday and making it the crest of the flag.
“The Territory's crest is represented by St. Ursula who I am depicting and the 11 lamps which represent the 11,000 virgin followers. My vigilate crown headpiece demonstrates our Latin logo for Be Watchful,” said Jno-Lewis.
“My white dress signifies the purity of a virgin and the gold represents their triumph to remain respected and holy. Each lamp, even the one in my hand, lights up like a real lamp and this is my design brought to life for the Miss Universe pageant” she said in her exclusive with this news site.
Speaking of her journey this far the VI flag carrier at this year’s Miss Universe pageant Ms Jno-Lewis, said, “It's been AMAZING. I cannot believe how much I have grown since I've been here and the opportunity to represent the British Virgin Islands is the best gift to me, ever!”
And while the very popular site that trails the happenings of world pageants, Missosology fashion police, rates her evening gown as the worst stating, “A black fish… why would they make this dress in this fabric? It’s just hideous.” Ms Jno Lewis fired back when she said, “I don't need anyone to tell me that I am beautiful because I was created in God's image and I know I am beautifully made. The dress which was designed by Germain is amazing and I received many compliments on it. I am actually looking forward to another opportunity to wear the design.”
Asked if her spirit has been broken in anyway by such a rating via mass social media, she firmly said, “No it has not.” She added, “Also most Missosology sites are bloggers who may or may not have a sense of fashion.”
She said that today they are in the final stages and she is currently at rehearsals. On Jan 25, 2015, 15 young ladies will be selected to move on to compete for a newly designed DIC crown.
The final leg of the 63rd Annual Miss Universe Pageant will be this Sunday January 25, 2015 in the city of Doral, Florida, USA and all are encouraged to continue to show love for Miss BVI at the Miss Universe Pageant, Ms Jaynene Jno-Lewis.

They are haters, tell them suck an egg! Big ups Ms. BVI, you are doing the damn thing, take all you can get out of that one of a kind experience.
Nobody is speaking about you it's the dress that is very ugly! Everybody who see that dress say you look like a fish. So don't curse the fashion police. You need curse G..... I can't believe you actually put it on self. G....e win 2 show & he head swell up. Strupes.
You sound like an @$$ and that was not her evening gown for the pageant, that was worn during one of the prelim segments.
Give it a rest with the hate. Everybody has an idea but nobody wants to assist. Getting international help as you call it costs money. Only because she appears to be doing far better than most BVI contestants that we have sent, most poeple talking. The expectation was for her to go up there and make an @$$ of herself but she has shocked everyone with the way she has represented the BVI with minimal support, financial and otherwise. Just shut the #$$% up and let the girl enjoy her experience. All of a sudden everyone has an opinion and pretending to give a $h456. Further, that dress was worn to one of the events, it was not the dress she wore for the evening wear segment on stage.
I thought St Ursula had 6 lamps with chains on the left of her and 5 on the right and 1 in her hand...... what a costume...poorly depicted...wrong lamps wrong dress...cheap.....sorry Jaynene...you are not to blame...good work representing...
