Trial for Matthew D. Hazell starts in HC

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Having successfully selected a panel of jury, the High Court trial for Matthew D. Hazell Matthew, 25, has begun.

Hazell is charged with a number of offenses laid against him after he had turned up at Peebles Hospital in the wee hours of February 16, 2015 with suspicious wounds and taken into custody by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).

The charges against him are attempted murder, attempted robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition. These charges stem from an incident which took place just about midnight on Monday, February 16, 2015 at the night deposit box outside CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank in Road Town. Hazell was an employee of the very bank.

Police Sergeant Dorville Carty was about to deposit $28,342.08 at CIBC First Caribbean Bank from OneMart's day's earnings when he had a life-threatening experience. He was attack by a lone gunman who attempted to cart off with the intended deposited amount.

Carty is one of the star witnesses to testify in court and did so on March 27, 2017 as he relived the ordeal. The case is being heard by Justice Nicola Byer while Hazell is being represented by Attorney at Law Mrs Valerie Stephens-Gordon and Michael Maduro.

It's not the end of the world reflect on were you went wrong and better yourself sometimes things happen to us to bring us back to our rightful place to be humble and obedient to God. Keep your head up my brother. we all make mistakes it's what we learned from it.

Others who believe in the lifestyle take notes. Don't matter how big or popular they are their ending was ugly. That lifestyle of bad man/woman is and will always be a lie.

What if it had nothing to do with wanting to live a lavish lifestyle, but wanting to help someone. He's still in the wrong but you can't jump to the conclusion that he commited the crime to uphold an image.

It's so unfortunate for him to have suffered in so many ways and at the end of it all, he profits nothing but maybe a long jail time and a severe set back in his life. I also hope that it would be a lesson to his cliché like the one who drove away his vehicle from the hospital parking lot with the evidence. They need to stop interfering with police investigation.

Hazel did what he did and he knew what he was doing, so that wasn't any mistake. The Bible says, the wages of sin is death in a spiritual sense. He gets what he worked for. He could have killed the cop and he could have been killed as well. Robbing the same hand( CIBC) that is feeding you, wicked.
