UPDATE: Local Carlton Pickering identified as man found dead @ Gene Hill

GENE HILL, Tortola, VI- Police have released the name of the man found in a partially decomposed state at Gene Hill, Tortola, today, Friday, February 28, 2020

He has been identified as local Carlton Pickering.

The discovery of the body was made sometime this morning. It is unclear to our newsroom at this time who made the discovery.

"I can confirm a report received of a deceased male at his residence at Gene Hill.

"Police Responded and found a deceased Carlton Pickering, a 61 year old BVIslander," Police Information Officer Akia L. Thomas told our newsroom.

Investigations are ongoing into the matter.

Decomposing body of man discovered @ Gene Hill

A startling discovery of a decomposing body at a residence in Gene Hill, on the main island of Tortola, was made this morning, Friday, February 28, 2020.

The body is reportedly that of a male.

Police are currently at the scene carrying out investigations.

    He was sick for some time and it was felt he went to visit his wife in another Caribbean country. Which he regularly did. He was not missing for years as some idiot said. In this blog. His family thinks he had either heart attack or stroke and donot think of any foul play.

      Gene Hill is the area just as you go up that hill/road from CSY area and just before entering into Fish Bay. You can also enter Gene Hill from off the main road going up to Belle Vue from Fort Hill.

    RIP. Really sad story. Everyone connected on Social Media, and this poor soul died all alone and found days after. What have we become? Detached & indifferent. May is soul rest in peace now.
