    Police could not confirm whether the rider was wearing it at the time of the incident???? Could medical personnel confirm? One would expect it to be on the rider not on the ground.

    I'll await more details.

    there is a blind bend coming into pockwood where many accidents take place, while in the pond itself, pot holes make it difficult. Then you have trucks to both dump and shopping mall. Watch out for speed in that area.

    He was wearing a helmet. When one falls, the helmet is usually taken off so that they won't feel claustrophobic... -explains why the helmet was at the scene while the individual was transported in the ambulance.

      @Disgusted

      Since when cleaning up the place or ensuring that it is clean became the job of the police? You people got to be sick. It is our civic duty to clean our sorroundings. There is also a department responsible for that in case you did not know. They can can also take people to court for any breach as it relates to the improper disposal of garbage. The problem in this country is that everything that happen we want to blame the police.

    I believe that some rule and regulations to riding these bike should be established or re-established. This kind of move also needs serious help from the police. For example, the same way that police sometimes carry out random or routine inspections on the road for vehicles, for registration etc, stops should be made to ensure that the bike that a rider is using is licenced , insured and that the riders is wearing the appropriate protective gear. I say appropriate because, like a previous writer said, some of the helmets are just shells that offer no protection. I don't ride anymore, but I believe that there's some kind of measure or making on the helmet that state that they're DOT approved or something like that.... anyway a rider without a helmet should be a red flag to begin with and once stopped should receive some kind of fine or penalty for riding without a helmet. Also, a rider who has been stopped for on reason or the other should have his helmet checked for the approval codes that allow for proper protection. What a lot of these young riders are doing is buying the cheaper helmets that literally state on the inside that the helmet is purely cosmetic. So, I'm also suggesting that riders found to be wearing the toy versions of helmet should receive some kinds of warning, fine or penalty.
