ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Word just reaching our newsroom from officials of the BVI Basketball Federation (BVIBF) is that the one game scheduled for this evening August 16, 2017 between Virgin Gorda’s Mystics and Tortola’s Legs at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex has been postponed.

The flash flood watch issued by the Department of Disaster Management (DDM) for the Virgin Islands, which is expected to last until 12:00 midnight, is the reason for the cancellation.

The game, according to the BVIBF, is expected to be played on Friday August 18, 2017 and on Wednesday August 23, 2017 if necessary.

Currently, Mystics are up with two wins in the Best of Five Series.

Meanwhile, the other two leagues- the Hon Julian Fraser Save the Seed National Basketball League and the Virgin Gorda Summer Jam- remain on schedule to tip off August 19, 2017.

Why does it matter? Back in New York we would leave one tournament and drive 30 mins to the other..

We had a flood watch on Wednesday night; it was raining with lightening and thunder. Are you people saying that the players and fans should have left the safety of their homes to come to a basketball game? I am so ashamed of these comments. It looks like some of you have no common sense
