Drive SLOW SLOW SLOW especially where crowds and schools are. Hope the child is o.k. and I know the driver was scared stiff.

There are often cars illegally parked on on very close to these crossings which obscures the view for both pedestrians and drivers. Bring back supercop to ticket the offenders and make our roads safer.

That particular crossing is a major hazard and I for one am surprised nobody has been killed there. The planter and flowers make it very difficult for drivers to see adult pedestrians, let alone small children if approaching from the west.

As pretty as it is, that planter needs to be removed so that drivers have a better line of sight.

While I am at it, the crosswalk at Umi Fashions is constantly blocked by a big black SUV that the police seem unwilling or unable to do anything about. You cannot blame drivers if someone steps out onto the road from behind that hulk. How you supposed to see them? Come on man, give drivers a break!

I drive from West every day into town and back home every night. Those two crosswalks terrify me as a driver. You can't see people! I am begging that somebody have the good sense to remove the planters at the one where the little girl got hit and for the police to finally do something about the person who is so special they think they can park directly in front of a crosswalk! I swear, one day I am going to go into town early and park my truck there. If I get a ticket or towed, I will fight it and I will NOT pay any fine. I will go to jail first! What good for the goose, good for the gander man!

The only conversation the police should have with the driver, "You are under arrest"! Judgment, suspend driving privileges and mandatory driver education class.

I'm I correct in assuming the 6 child was crossing the street unaccompanied? If that's true the driver isn't the only one at fault. Not blaming the child...

Where were parents of the child? 6 years old is too young to be going around alone. The driver isn't the only one to blame. Speedy recovery for the little one.

Now people, I thought it was a norm that five year old and six year old just do them thing, I always observe those young children on the street without supervision of older Sibillings or parents. I have seen some in Greenland walking to and from school like they in them living room, just not paying any attention to traffic, and those in Huntum ghut is worst. Parents need to start picking up children from School. In Belle Vue young children late in the night walking on the road with school clothes on, well I assume them had late lesson , but parent need to take more care , we don't have serial killers or rapist here in the BVI but it is just time. Parent practice caution and care so that it become part of your life to support your children to and from school.
