UPDATE: By-Election date changed to January 7, 2019
The Governor and Premier along with the Election Supervisor Ms Juliette Penn, have now had final consultations and has received advice from the Attorney General, Mr Baba Aziz.
Therefore, our newsroom can now confirm that the By-Election to fill the vacant Fifth District seat will take place on January 7, 2019.
Lots of Candidates
The By-Election could see up to five political parties putting up Candidates, including Honourable Myron V. Walwyn's (AL) wing of the NDP, the Honourable Ronnie W. Skelton's (AL) breakaway wing, called the Virgin Islands Progressive Alliance (VIPA), the main Opposition Virgin Islands Party (VIP), led by Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1), the Progressives United led by Honourable Julian Fraser RA (R3) and the United Party.
There is also expected to be a number of Independent Candidates.
The Late Delores Lettsome-Christopher died on October 16, 2018, and was buried on Saturday November 3, 2018 in an official funeral.
