UPDATE: Bryan B. Fahie of Matcha's Bar & Grill leaves hospital
Mr Fahie, who sought medical attention at the island’s main public health facility, was shot once to his chest last night August 28, 2015 in a two-man robbery showdown at his bar in front of his customers, according to one eyewitness.
Mr Fahie, a former civil servant with Her Majesty’s Customs Department, is currently nursing the flesh wound while family and close friends thank God for his spared life.
Police have since confirmed the robbery and shooting via a press release issued today, August 29, 2015.
"Preliminary inquiries indicate that two masked men entered the bar around 12:30am. A firearm was discharged and one man was injured. The injured male was treated at Peebles Hospital and late released. Nothing was taken in the incident," the press release from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) stated.
Police further said that at the time of the incident the perpetrators were wearing dark clothing with their faces covered.
The RVIPF is asking anyone who may have information that could assist in identifying the perpetrators to contact the Criminal Investigations Department through the RVIPF 311 access number.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Reports reaching Virgin Islands News Online is that two armed bandits pounced on a popular business place on Fort Hill last evening, Friday August 28, 2105 and that a businessman was shot during the robbery.
According to reports, the brazen incident took place at the Matcha’s Bar and Grill even while several customers were at the business place.
An undisclosed amount of cash was reportedly taken by the robbers.
The condition of the injured man, who was taken to Peebles Hospital, is not known.
It was only on Saturday August 22, 2015 that two armed robbers struck at the Seetos Restaurant and Bar located in the Mill Mall on Wickham’s Cay I.
The robbery took place even after several customers were in the vicinity.
Police have not made any arrests as yet.
