Grenadian duo coming for 11th Ogier/Deloite BVI Sunrise Half Marathon

The 11th Ogier/Deloite BVI Sunrise Half Marathon on December 3, 2016 is expected to be a keenly competitive affair with the addition of two athletes from Grenada.

According to Race Organisor Kay Reddy, Grenadians Reon Radix and Kenisha Pascal will add to the competition.

Top Grenadian middle and long distance runner Radix had competed in the 2nd OECS Track and Field Championships in July, placing second in the 5000m while Pascal won the inaugural Veda Bruno-Victor Female Athlete of the Meet award, after winning the 800m, 1500m, 3000m then helping her 4x400m Relay to second place in the same OECS Championships held here in the Virgin Islands.

Radix has run 1 hour 24 minutes in the half marathon while Pascal has a best time of 1 hour 32 minutes.

The duo is being seen as a good matchup for the US Virgin Islands (USVI) duo of Shane DeGannes and Ruth-Ann David, who have dominated the event for the last few years.

The purse money is a joke I must admit. It costs more that what they are paying to get here... Certainly 2 major companies can come up with more money than this while promoting the Virgin Islands.
