ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – On the 12th day of Christmas One Mart gave to Ms Novlette Bennett of Main Street, Tortola one 15 Cu ft Frigidaire refrigerator valued $699.00. It was less than an hour before the strike of the midnight bell that rings in the cream day of the Christmas season, December 25, 2012.

An initial call to the winner’s mobile phone went to voicemail, “Oh no seems like we’ll have to pull for another person, just kidding let’s try one more time.” said Mr. Mark H. Vanterpool as he was the MC of the final and all other drawings of the One Mart Christmas Give-away promotion.  At the second call Ms. Bennett answered and the news was broken to her but not before being asked, “Were you sleeping?" to which she responded “no.” “Were you expected anything? Not really but I shopped at One Mart this afternoon.”

In a matter of approximately ten minutes, Ms. Novlette Bennett was down to the store to pick up her big winning. Surprisingly, she turned up well prepared complete with a truck to take her winning home.

In previous years, One Mart had given away a car on an annual basis but took a decision this year to share the winnings among all its customers hence this year’s twelve (12) days of Christmas give-a-way.

It was a moment of satisfaction for the One Mart owners, its management and staff because for them, they had brought cheers to the hearts of its customers and friends.

Luz Sanchez wins perfect Xmas gift- A washing machine!

- One Mart Christmas Give-away ends tonight Dec. 24

“He may not come when you want him to, but he is always right on-time”; “Here comes Santa Claus” are two songs that must have been ringing in the head of Ms Luz Sanchez after winning her desired Christmas present- a washing machine at One Mart’s Christmas Give-away promotion.

And being the bundle of excitement she is, one would be led to believe that she has been hopping around her home, dancing in her yard and giving a lusty ‘seasons greeting’ any caller to her home, all because she is one person that has said in all truthiness of heart that she has been an good girl this year and Santa brought her the one thing she wished for.

Ms Luz Sanchez is the jolliest winner so far of the One Mart’s Christmas Give-away this year. On Saturday night, December 22, 2012 her shopping bill was pulled making her the winner of a brand new Frigidaire singe tub washing machine.

“I asked for a washing machine for my Christmas and Santa came two days early for me, I guess I was a really good girl this year,” said Sanchez, who wore a broad smile and gave several outbursts of laughter as she collected her  winning prize on Sunday night, December 23, 2012 at the One Mart store. The presentation was done by Mr. and Mrs. Vanterpool, the owners of the store.

Sanchez said that she has been living in the Virgin Islands for more than twenty four (24) years having hailed from Santo Domingo. “I worked right here when it was Kmart at that time, so when I heard Mr. Vanterpool’s voice at the other end of the line I just started screaming, I was excited because I knew if he was calling at that time it meant that I did win and I screamed more because I knew that day they were giving away a washing machine, the most important thing I needed this Christmas,” she said with glee.

One Mart said this year they invested approximately $350,000 in give a-ways to customers. Those included fridges, washing machines, microwaves, counter top ovens, television sets and clothes irons. Additionally, there were special gifts to loyalty customers, free distributions of hams and turkeys and a number of other gifts.

For One Mart, it was twelve days of give-a-ways- an initiative that sought to spread the cheers to their customers and friends. On Sunday night, December 23, 2012 Virgin Islands News Online was on spot to witness the drawing of the second-to-last night of give aways. Vernita Daniels was the lucky woman then and was informed via telephone by Mr. Mark H. Vanterpool.

Tonight, December 24, 2012, she will be collecting her classic vintage West Coast Bicycle.

Also tonight, someone will win the most expensive prize of the twelve day give-a-way, that being a 50 cubit refrigerator. Some persons will also be taking home microwave and irons among other items.

Shopping $50.00 or more entitles customers to an entry coupon.
