Ultimatum given to man accused of grabbing another's private parts
Hopkinson Sr., it is alleged, grabbed the private parts of another male in public in June 2010. He told the court he is represented by Myron Walwyn but had no idea where his lawyer was since he was unable to make contact with him.
The prosecution had said the witness was always in court.
Magistrate Richards noted that the matter has been postponed on three occasions owing to either the defendant not present or his lawyer not showing up and that it was not fair for the other party involved. She then adjourned the court for over 15 minutes but the defendant still was unable to contact his lawyer and had to solicit the service of Stephen Daniels to represent him in the interim.
Daniels was successful in getting a final adjournment and the matter has been put for trial on January 13, 2012.
The court had previously heard that on June 2, 2010 around 6:50 a.m., the Virtual Complainant (VC) was speaking with his cousin when Hopkins approached and grabbed his private parts. The prosecution had also said that Hopkins did not deny the allegations but allegedly told Police he was going to tell the court that the incident was a joke.

Meanwhile, Marley Donovan and Krell Lewis, who tried to crack open a safe in Delta Petroleum’s Pockwood Pond service station on March 18, 2011 and left some $6,300 worth of damages, but also fingerprints, are to be sentenced next month after pleading guilty to the charge of burglary on November 23, 2011 when they appeared before Magistrate Richards.
The duo, both 21 years of age, was previously granted bail in the sum of $45,000 each with one signed surety.
As was first reported by Virgin Islands News Online, the two thieves used a crow bar, grinder and even kicked the safe at the gas station, but were unsuccessful in opening it.
Security cameras had captured the antics of the two masked men as they entered the gas station from a bathroom window and tried to open the safe from around 1:11 a.m. until a little after 3 a.m.
