CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, USVI - A shooting incident in the vicinity of Lindbergh Bay Beach on Thursday, December 20, 2018, left two men injured with gunshot wounds, USVIPD Public Information Officer, Glen Dratte has announced.

The incident occurred at about 10:51 p.m, according to Police. The 911 emergency call centre dispatched USVI Port Authority officers to the scene, as they were the closest to where the shooting occurred.

Pool of blood

Upon the officers’ arrival at the location, they described seeing what appeared to be “a pool of blood” in the roadway, according to Mr Dratte.

The officers then made contact with the victims, both of whom had sustained gunshot wounds: one individual was shot in the face, and the other in the right shoulder and lower back.

Both victims were transported the Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment and were both said to be in stable condition.

Mr Dratte said the incident was being investigated by the USVIPD’s Criminal Investigation Bureau.
