Tropical storm Nadine in the Atlantic, strengthening expected
As of the 5PM Forecast the center of Tropical Storm Nadine was located near latitude 24.0 north longitude 53.0 west or 765 miles North East of the Leeward Islands. Nadine is moving toward the northwest near 16 mph and a turn toward the north-northwest is expected tonight. Nadine is forecast to turn toward the north on Friday and toward the north-northeast by early Saturday.
Maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph with higher gusts. Some strengthening is expected during the next day or so and Nadine could become a hurricane later today.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 230 miles from the center. Estimated minimum central pressure is 990 MB.
