Travis Walters, Rock City arrive March 1 for Top 7@7 Awards

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The red carpet is already set to be rolled out as artistes and representatives of record labels begin to arrive today March 1, 2012 for the much anticipated Top 7@ 7 Music Awards on Saturday March 3, 2011 at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.

According to the organising body of the talent show, Follow the Movement (FTM), Travis Walters a.k.a “Travie Rozae” and Rock City who will be headlining the ZROD Top 7@7 Music Award Show, will arrive via ferry from St. Thomas at 5 p.m. and would be available for interviews with the media at the Ferry Terminal.

Also on the same ferry will be Music Producer, Mr. Bryan Cox of So So Def Recordings and Raymond Daniels of RAYDAR.

According to President of FTM, Craig Lake, Mr. Cox will come in the place of Executive Vice President of Creative at Universal Music Group, who was initially slated to come.

So So Def Recordings is a record label based in Atlanta, Georgia, and owned by producer Jermaine Dupri, specializing in Southern Hip Hop, R&B and bass music. It has worked with Sonic Music and Columbia Records and notable acts include the female R&B group Xscape, Jagged Edge and Bow Wow.

Mr. Lake also said the other record label representatives would arrive on Friday and would be available for interviews at a cocktail reception in their honour.

Meanwhile, VIP tickets are almost sold out and up to publishing time there were only 16 tickets remaining. VIP tickets cost $35 and regular tickets $20. A additional $5 would be charged for non-ticket holders.

The Top 7@7 Music Awards will be headlined for the first time by a Virgin Islander-Travis Walters aka Travie Rozae, who has promised an energetic performance as never seen from him.

Speaking exclusively to Virgin Islands News Online via telephone from Atlanta recently, Walters said his home crowd can expect to see a new person than what they are accustomed to seeing. “They can expect a whole different person, a far more energetic performance as never seen before,” Walters said.

According to the talented Virgin Islands artiste, who recently released his first single “See Her in You”, he was honoured to be given the opportunity to be the first Virgin Islander to headline the Awards Show. “To be the first Virgin Islander to headline this show makes me feel very appreciated and I am very grateful to be given the opportunity.”

Other local performers would include Aaron da Jedi, K’are, Rikkiya, Hashim, MBJ, Country Boyz and no stranger to the show- Monea Richardson, who swept the awards last year.
