Tortola Pier Park reopens for business
When our newsroom visited the Tortola Pier Park yesterday, November 1, 2017, customers were seen patronising the businesses, while a number of workers were cleaning the grounds and restoration work was being done to some of the businesses that sustained major damages.
“Although things are not busy as one would expect, I am just here to make sure that the premises are clean for when more customers start to come back to the Pier Park,” said a worker while picking up some garbage from the ground.
“We depend on our locals”- Store Manager @ Klass Electronics
In spite of not being fully open to the public, the store manager at Klass Electronics during an exclusive interview confirmed the establishment is hoping to officially open in December because the business “depends on the locals”.
“We are really hoping to open in December because we really, really want to have our customers back because here at Klass, we depend on our locals. The locals are amazing and they do really good business with us,” said the store manager with a smile on her face, adding that they welcome the cruise ships as well.
The store manager commented that Klass Electronics wants to reopen as soon as possible to “serve the public because they understand that a lot of persons lost electronics as a result of Hurricane Irma”, while noting that the hurricane damaged their ceiling but the looters broke into their store and that was their “biggest loss”.
Klass Electronics is going above and beyond for their customers by promoting on their Facebook page that they are willing to meeting customers in different areas with products that they wish to purchase. In addition, they are preordering products that are requested by customers that they may not have in stock, according to the store manager.
“So if you should want, let’s say a phone or a computer that we don’t have in stock, you can just make a deposit and we would bring it in through FedEx in a very quick time,” explained the store manager.
Mac's to open on Monday
Meanwhile, in an invited comment, a representative of Mac’s Restaurant told our news reporter that they will officially open on Monday, November 6, 2017 to serve breakfast and lunch to the general public, while adding that the business sustained minimal damages.
Frozen Yogurts and Treats, Body Glam, Crocs and Camden Gourmet Market were some of the other businesses that were seen operating on November 1, 2017.
