ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The big night is here- The 5th Annual Top 7@7 Awards and Monea Richardson is ready to make another sweep of the awards and hopefully gets signed to a record label or the R.A.Y.D.A.R. Entertainment superstar moulding programme like Travis Walters.

As expected also, Monea is coming bigger and better tonight March 3, 2012 at the red carpet affair at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.

“This year it’s going to be real big. The choreography is better, the dancers are better, everything is bigger and better so I am really hoping that everything lives up to expectation,” Monea told Virgin Islands News Online in an exclusive interview.

“Last year was just rapping but this year I am mixing it up. The choreography on the whole is more complex, more vigorous activities, more movement on the stage. Every year I try to be strategic in the songs that I bring out because I know I am working to a standard so I wanted to do a slow song, a middle paced song and a really fast song.”

The teenaged singer/song writer also said she is ready to be signed and hopes that works out for her after her performance tonight.

Meanwhile, representatives of record labels Shawn Holiday and Devyne Stephens both said they are hoping to find the next star tonight. “I am very excited to be here and hopefully we can find some synergy here and do more business here. I am expecting to find some new talent that really knows how to impress the culture,” said Stephens.

According to Mr. Holiday, he is expecting to find the the next Lady Gaga, “the next Usher, the next Jay-Z, the next Dre, the next Nelly”.

The Top 7@7 Music Awards will be headlined by Travis Walters (Travie Rozae) who said persons could expect a different performer. “Something very energetic and something that you have never seen before. I just want to show everybody stuff that I learned,” said Walters while noting that there would definitely be more energy, stage presence and interaction in his performance.

“I am just focusing on this show and make sure that I put on a good showcase for the people who are coming to view the showcase and can take me back and I could be a signed artiste. I just want to make sure that happens and that I would be back in Atlanta working with Rock City as well as other producers and writers….It has been a great experience in Atlanta. It was hard for me leaving honestly to come home because I didn’t want the experience to end but I have to do what I have to do.”

Also offering entertainment that is sure to turn the awards into a party atmosphere, is Planet VI (formerly Rock City) who said that whenever they come to Tortola they always have a good time so persons can come expecting to have a party tonight.

Show time is 7:30PM

I went to this show and it was a waste of time. The same muck every single year. It's good to see dem trying but the next Jay Z, Nelly, Be or who ever will not be found in BVI if we can't even speak our own language well much less sing it. Trash, this show was TRASH daddy!!!
