Thrilling semi-finals of Wendol Williams Cup expected today

SPANISH TOWN, Virgin Gorda, VI- The semi-final games in the Wendol Williams Cup are expected to be keenly contested affairs at the Virgin Gorda Recreation Ground today, December 8, 2013 with the big names in Virgin Islands’ football in action.

“No love lost” will mostly like sum up what is expected to be an exciting battle between two teams of championship pedigree- Islanders and Ballstars, who clash from 6:15 P.M.

Islanders are expected to have in their line-up experienced and talented players such as Valdo Anderson, Francis Primo and Andy Davis. They would be matched by the youth and speed of the likes of Nigel Charlemagne and Shamoy Thompson up front and the solid defence of Alvin St Ville, Reuben Stoby and Mervin Dainty.

Old Madrid had forfeited their quarter final game against Islanders.

The second semi-final at 8:15 P.M. will be between defending champions Sugar Boys and Rebels in a Tortola/Virgin Gorda affair.

Sugar Boys have a bunch of solid players including Derol Redhead, Terry Nanthon and Michael Castillo, to rely on while Rebel’s attack will be spearheaded by Garnett Feron and Bryan Smith.
